10 Great iPhone RPGs You Should Download and Play

I’ve been an iPhone user for many years now and during this time, played many great RPGs among other games.

Below are 10 great games I recommend you all to download and play.

Chaos Rings

Square Enix’s brand new, exclusive RPG for mobile devices. The moment I played the game, I was hooked. Great visuals, story and battle system. Can be repetitive at times however very engaging.

Chaos Rings Ω (Omega)

I enjoyed Chaos Rings so much, I purchased Chaos Rings Ω at released and I was not dissapointed. The landscape and stages are the same, however the game was great nonetheless. Great music, battle system and characters!

I haven’t had the pleasure of playing Chaos Rings 2 yet, so didn’t include on this list.

Eternal Legacy

An early RPG on the iPhone – some call it a Final Fantasy rip-off, albeit a great one. Eternal Legacy is a wonderful game with great visuals and gameplay. If your budget doesn’t allow you to download some of the more dear games on this list, you will not be disappointed with this one. I was hooked from the day I downloaded the game and finished it within a week :) .

Swordigo

“#1 Adventure game on the U.S. App Store”

“PCWorld’s top 10 video game of 2012! (May 2012)”

The best platform RPG on the iPhone in my opinion. Polished to perfection.

Final Fantasy 3

Final Fantasy 3, originally released on the SNES, was remade for the Nintendo DS and then ported onto the iPhone. Square Enix have done a great job on the port and I’ve personally spent numerous hours on the game.

Secret of Mana

One of the greatest RPGs of all time in my book, I bought this without hesitation. I’ve played the game for over 10 years ever since purchasing it on the SNES and will continue to play it for years to come. Great port, great gameplay, great story and great music! It will touch your heart. If I had a choice to purchase one game from this list, it would be Secret of Mana.

Chrono Trigger

Another legendary RPG originally released on the SNES. I haven’t personally downloaded this for the iPhone but finished the game on the PS1. If you have never played it, download it today.

Lunar Silver Star Touch

I have a confession to make. I haven’t played this game on the iPhone yet but I’m certain it’s a great port. I first played the game on the PS1 and to this day, has remained one of my favourite RPGs of all time. A very touching story.

I’m hoping to download this onto my device very soon.

(Note: This is the trailer for the PSP version of the game.)

Galaxy on Fire 2

Some may argue this is not an RPG however it remains one of the top games on the iPhone for those who have played it. Galaxy on Fire 2 is an epic free roam space adventure game. You can mine, become a pirate, upgrade weapons, ships, complete missions and more. I’ve spent over 50hrs on the game and still hooked onto it with it’s recent updates.

So there you have it! 10 great RPGs on the iPhone. Have I missed any you think should make it onto the list? There are many I haven’t had the pleasure of playing yet so please leave your suggestions in the comments below!
